If you are a parent, guardian or teacher of a child or children at Hook Schools, you are a member of the Hook School Parents Association.

Purpose of the HSPA

The Hook Schools Parents Association (HSPA) is a registered charity, which exists to raise money for both the Hook Schools in order to enhance the children's environment and learning.

We also try to foster social contact between parents and Hook residents and reinforce the key roles of the schools in our village. As a parent of a child at either Hook Infant or Hook Junior School, you are automatically a member of the HSPA.

The Work of The HSPA

We run a variety of events throughout the year including the Summer and Christmas Fairs, Children's end of term Discos, Mother's Day and Father's Day sales, Social Evenings, Bonfire Night Fireworks, Balls, Beer Festivals and second hand clothes collections.

Over the last few years we have helped finance a computerised library system, construction equipment, and improvements to the playground, quiet seating areas, interactive projectors and a lot of additional IT equipment

On behalf of the HSPA we would like to welcome all new parents to the HSPA. We hope your children will be happy at the school and reap the benefits of the HSPA fund raising events.

We advertise events through our Newsletters, which are sent out through the schools, Hook Focus and posters around the village. Around the time of the fairs we organise raffles and the tickets for these are also sent out via your children. If you have any suggestions or ideas for events, please do not hesitate to let us know either through the school office or via one of the committee members.

The Committee

The Committee of the HSPA is elected at the Annual General Meeting, which is held each September at the beginning of the new school year.

Current members are:- Richard Paganuzzi (Chair), Sarah Brown, Jayne Weaver, Ioanna Mantika, Claire Collins, David Brown, Catherine Harwood, Bojan Soldat, Nikky Ryder, Claire Peake, Andrea Pounder, Andrea Newman, Chris Newman, Rachel Quinn, Tanya Piggins.

A number of events each year require additional helpers. In particular a number of marshals and short order cooks are needed for Bonfire Night and assistance is always welcome running stalls at the fairs or making cakes for sale at events. If you are willing to help please send contact any member of the committee or send us an e-mail.
